then leave. nobody asked you to stay here. being an american citizen is such a privilege as compared to most of the other parts of our planet, so if you have a fucking problem with trying to make a better name for your home country, maybe you should just leave.
burrrrn, dude
That’s a progressive attitude. If you don’t like something, don’t call attention to it or stand against it, just shut up and leave. Hooray for blind patriotism! Rather than trying to make a better name for your country, why not try to actually make it a better country.
And, honestly, anyone who thinks “being an american citizen is such a privilege as compared to most of the other parts of our planet” probably hasn’t lived in many of those other parts of the planet. Hooray for American propaganda too, I guess.
Seriously. Isn’t it more patriotic to be critical of our country and work to make improvements?
But that means having to think and spend our money more wisely, paying higher taxes and actually investing in our country. And we all know that taxes are the ultimate evil, so I guess we’ll just let the US continue to lag behind.
Just, all of this. If you really think living in America is the greatest thing that could happen to someone, your worldview is skewed. And you’ve probably never opened a book.
Although I agree with the last few reblogs wholeheartedly, I think sometimes we need to be a little more positive. For example, if we weren’t #1 in “Prisoners” think of how many criminals, rapists, and plastic surgeons would still be running around. At least we’re doing something right, right?
Sure, I’m all for being critical, but this chart isn’t about being critical. It effects no positive action. If an American rapist sees this, they’re not going to be all, “Whoa, the U.S. is number one in rape? I better back off then. For the good of the nation!” It’s a useless “info”graphic with no other purpose than to point out that the U.S. isn’t the best at everything (or is the best at a lot of things, depending on how you look at it).
